15 Temmuz hain darbe girişimi Türk demokrasisini hedef almış kara bir leke olarak anılacaktır...

Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri'nin ve stratejik kamu kurumlarının içinde sızmış Fetullahçı Terör Örgütü (FETÖ) mensuplarının başlattığı darbe girişimi; Cumhurbaşkanı Sayın Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'a suikast düzenlemeyi, Anayasal düzeni ve seçimle iş başına gelmiş meşru hükümeti yıkarak bir cunta hükûmeti kurmayı hedefiiyordu. 15 Temmuz gecesi başlayan kalkışma, Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan'ın ulusal medya üzerinden yaptığı ve halkı demokrasiyi korumak için meydanlara çağırdığı konuşma sonrası seyir değiştirdi. On binlerce silahsız, sivil gösterici demokrasiyi ve seçilmiş hükûmeti korumak için sokağa çıktı. Dünya tarihinde eşi görülmemiş destansı bir direniş sonucunda darbe girişimi geri püskürtüldü. 16 Temmuz 2016 sabahı Türkiye'nin uyandığı manzara trajikti. Ankara ve İstanbul, helikopterler, tanklar, ve F-16 jetlerinin altında terörün hâkim olduğu bir gece yaşamış, darbe girişimi sonucunda 251 kahraman şehit düşmüş ve 2500'ü aşkın vatan evladı da gâzi olmuştu. Darbeciler Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi'ni (TBMM) 11 kere bombalamış, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyesi, Polis Karargahları ile Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı (MİT) binalarına saldırmış ve medya kuruluşlarını hedef almıştı. Türkiye sadece tarihinin en kanlı darbe girişimine değil, aynı zamanda en kapsamlı terör saldırısına maruz kalmıştı. Öyle ki o sırada ABD Başkan Yardımcısı olan Joe Biden, darbe girişiminden sonra Türkiye'ye yaptığı ziyaret sırasında 15 Temmuz darbe girişiminin Türkiye'nin 11 Eylül'ü olduğu tespitinde bulunacaktı. Buna karşılık Türk halkının demokrasiyi ve seçilmiş iradeyi korumak için gösterdiği direniş ise tüm dünyada takdir toplayacaktı. Dönemin Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Başkanı Barack Obama, darbe girişimi için şu sözleri sarf edecekti: "Demokratik yollarla seçilmiş hükûmete karşı haince eyleme girişen ordu mensupları vardı. Ancak cesaret verici olan şey, Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan'a karşı olanların bile içinde bulunduğu ve bunun kabul edilemez olduğunu söyleyen Türk halkıydı... The treacherous coup attempt of July 15 will be remembered as a black mark that targeted Turkish democracy. The coup attempt, which was organized by a group of soldiers who also held parallel membership with the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), aimed to assassinate President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and replace both the constitutional order and parliamentary democracy with a military junta. The attempt that started on the night of July 15 began to change when President Erdoğan called on the people to take to the streets. Tens of thousands of unarmed civilians poured into the streets to protect Turkish democracy and its legitimately elected Government. As a result of an unprecedented epic resistance of a nation in world history, the coup attempt was repulsed. The scene which Turkey woke up to on the morning of July 16th was tragic. What occurred was a night of terror under the wrath of helicopter gunships, tanks, and F-16 jets. The events resulted in the martyrdom of 251 people and over 2500 maimed or wounded left behind. The coup plotters bombed the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) 11 times, attacked at the buildings of. The Presidential Complex, the police headquarters, and the National Intelligence Organization (NIO), targeted the media organizations. This was not only the most murderous coup attempt in Turkish history but also the most organized terrorist attack, which Turkey had ever been subjected to. In the face of this brutal attack, the resistance of the Turkish people won the admiration of foreign observers. U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, on a visit to Turkey after the July 15th coup attempt, would refer to the coup attempt as "Turkey's September 11th." In response to this, the resistance of the Turkish people to protect democracy and the elected political will would win general approval of the world. U.S. President Obama would say: "This coup was severe. You had members of the military engaging in treasonous acts against a democratically elected government. What was encouraging was the degree to which the Turkish people, including those who were opposed to President Erdoğan, [were] stepping up and saying this is unacceptable...
